Hermanus Whale Festival Mtb Rides Update 2013

More than 300 Mtb riders entered and braved the cold weather and took part in our Hermanus Whale Festival Mtb Rides on Saturday 28th September at Curro Hermanus. Participants could choose to do one of three distances, a 15km, 30km or 55km. There was lots of mud and even though the rain came down during the morning everyone had a fantastic time following the trails through the beautiful Hemel and Aarde Valley. Some of the riders commented that the ride was one of the most scenic in the Western Cape, beautiful yet taxing. The new single tracks were applauded as some of the best ever. The bridge crossings over the raging Onrust River received some ooo’s and aah’s with some riders rather walking across. [Nobody fell in!]

There were many lucky draw prizes with one lucky winner taking home a brand new MERIDA BIG NINE mountain bike.

These amazing trails would not have been possible without the co-operation and consent of all the land owners who allowed us to go over their farms. With kind consideration and very strict agreements between them and Hermanus Adventures these trails are now open to all! Get your permit today from Euodia Cycles or Wine Village. NO PERMIT, NO RIDE.

We would like to thank our sponsors SEEFF, Hermanus Nissan, Curro Hermanus, Glider sunglasses, Glaceau Vitamin Water, Second Skins, BUFF, Merida, Sumaridge Vineyards, Spookfontein, Euodia Cycles, Telegenix and Wine Village.
